Our deep desire is that the children who come to Woody Nook feel loved, accepted, involved and known.
We encourage children to join us in worship and participate in ways their caregivers feel is appropriate.
Vacation Bible School
SCUBA: Diving into Friendship with God August 12-16, 2024 from 9:00am-12:00pm
Vacation Bible School is a week-long ministry at Woody Nook that involves both Woody Nookers and people within the greater community.
Come and join us for a week of fun, friendship and learning about Jesus as we sing, dance, play, read, explore, experiment, craft, eat and learn!
Campers – If you were born 2012-2018, please join us as a camper. Invite your friends, neighbors, family, classmates, and teammates. Camper registration will begin late June.
Volunteer – If you were born in 2012 or earlier, please prayerfully consider joining us as a volunteer. There is childcare with programming available for volunteers children born 2019-2024. We are in need of 4 nursery attendants per day(Full week or single day options), 18 Crew leaders (lead a group of 7-8 kids from station to station), and 20 Jr leaders (help at station leaders or crew leaders). - Decoration Day: August 8th @ 9:30am until finished
- Volunteer meeting: August 8th @ 9:00am or 7:30pm
- Work Bees: May 15, 22, 29, June 5. Join us from 9:30am-11:30pm for fellowship, coffee, snacks and some fun work to help prepare for VBS.
Donations – If you are able, please collect and drop off the following items in the blue bin by the VBS Poster Board.
- Silage or greenhouse plastic
- Yarn and ribbon scraps
- 350 Toilet paper rolls
- 75 paper towel rolls
- 50 clear plastic water bottles
- 1- 9×13 aluminum pan
- 5 small fish tanks or clear big canisters
- Cardboard
- Coloured hole-reinforcement stickers
- Googly Eyes
We would love your prayers for this program as we ramp up into full prep mode. Specifically, please pray that God will call each volunteer, and that they would respond to His call for this ministry, as we together, dive deeper into friendship with God. As well as, please pray for the kids that will be attending this program, that they may learn about God and His love for them as well as grow deeper in friendship with Him.
Nursery: Ages 0-36 months
Every Sunday morning, for the duration of the entire service, children ages 0-2 have a place to belong, to be held, to sleep, and to play. It is staffed by loving and caring volunteers, including both adults and youth. When you arrive at church, you can bring your child to the nursery when you please; it is located in the south west wing of the church.
Sunday School: Preschool-Grade 5
September through June, we invite children to participate in our Sunday School ministry. It’s a place to sing songs just for them, are taught the stories from the bible, and engage in age-appropriate activities to reinforce the lessons! We invite the children to sit with you for the beginning portion of the service and then exit after the childrens blessing. Childrens ages 3 to kindergarden require a parent/guardian to sign them out after the service.
Through the summer months (July-September), we scale back our Sunday School to ages 3 to pre k.

Woody Nook Church is committed to creating safe places for people to hear the message of Jesus. This includes safe spaces for children, students and vulnerable people. We recognize that we are a reflection of God’s love to those in our care and we take our responsibility to them seriously. We view ourselves as partners with parents and caregivers, seeking to provide quality care and instruction in our ministry to the family. Woody Nook works to ensure we are compliant with our Safe Church Policy. In order to ensure a safe environment, volunteering requires proper vetting and background checks.
