The Woody Nook CRC GEMS Girls Club is excited to be able to provide a Free Pancake & Sausage Supper to friends and families in our community on February 16 in celebration of Shrove Tuesday
Shrove Tuesday, also known as “Pancake Day” has long been the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Shrove Tuesday was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes are the perfect way of using up these ingredients.
Normally we would celebrate together as a group for a pancake Supper at the church, but this year we reached out to the Wooden Shoe restaurant to see if they could help us do a curb side pickup pancake supper that people can enjoy at home. They have gone above and beyond in helping make this happen, and it is our hope that as a community we can feel connected and supported by each other while we share in a fun meal together this way.
There is no cost to order, but if you would like to donate or support our GEMS girls club, donations can be made in-person at pickup, or by e-transfer to woodynookgiving@gmail.com with GEMS in the memo.
